As part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2024, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti paid a heartfelt tribute to the Motherland with a series of cultural performances that encapsulated the spirit of freedom, unity, national integration, diversity, and, above all, patriotism.
The program was graced by Chief Guest, Prof. Rajkumar Bhatia, a social thinker and prolific writer, who, along with the Director of the Samiti, Dr. Jwala Prasad, ceremoniously unfurled the Tricolour. In a symbolic gesture of commitment to the nation, Prof. Bhatia also planted a tree, dedicating it to the motherland and supporting the 'Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam' initiative of the Government of India.

The day was marked by soul-stirring performances that brought the Gandhi Darshan campus at Rajghat to life. Artistes from Abhigyan Natya Association enthralled the audience with their musical rendition, celebrating the spirit of freedom. Further Artist from Abira group led by Sh Udaya Narain Singh presented various songs depicting the struggle for Independence and also highlighted the crucial role of Mahatma Gandhi in the freedom struggle.
Sh Himanshu Kumar's rendition of patriotic songs and Dr. Gorakh Prasad Mastana's evocative poetry further stirred emotions, resonating with the essence of the fervour of patriotism .

The Gandhi Darshan campus reverberated with the echoes of freedom and the glorification of the Motherland, particularly through the 'Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan,' as the enthusiasm and excitement of the performances vividly portrayed the indomitable spirit of independence.

During the programme , Dr Jwala Prasad welcomed the chief guest Prof. Raj Kumar Bhatia and presented him with a Gandhi Charkha and Antim Jan, the monthly magazine of GSDS. Sh. Sanjeet Kumar, Administrative Officer along with Dr. Vedabhyas Kundu, Programme Officer of the Samiti also welcomed several artists on this occasion.

Prof Bhatia also presented all the participating children a Gandhi notebook as a token of appreciation and which also contains points on cultivating good habit amongst children.

Sh. Sanjeet Kumarfurther proposed the vote of thanks as the programme drew to its fruitful conclusion.
